Agbada (or an Agbada), refers to a large, often overflowing gown worn by men in Nigeria and some West African countries. The large overflowing gown is sewn in such a manner that (constant) effort is required to keep it steady on the shoulders of the wearer.
Agbada is usually decorated with intricate embroidery, and is worn on special religious or ceremonial occasions.
At GMYT Fashion Academy, our Students dedicated time to come up with several Agbada designs, a creative strip which emanated from their in-depth pattern drafting class.
